Chapter Two: The Start of a Journey

Ezela had no idea how she was supposed to take the bus tip the instructions in her hand instructed her to take. She had only three dollars in her pocket, and she needed it if she wanted to eat that night. Hm, food or mysterious letter telling me to pay a bus fare that I don't know where it will take me. Hmmmm. Nevertheless, she sucked in her breath and hoped she could afford the bus ticket at all.

The bus was already there at 12:00 pm, just like the list of instructions said it would be. Ezela held her breath as she climbed on. The bus driver took one glance out of the corner of her eye, and, to Ezela's shock, waved her onto the bus before she could pay. "Get on, kid." she muttered in a thick Boston accent.

Ezela didn't know how she got on the bus without having to pay a cent, but she wasn't about to try and question it. She stared at the bus driver, wondering what the deal was. Maybe she's just a really charitable lady, and I'm her good deed for the day. she thought. Maybe it was a trick somehow. Oh well, she'd pay the bus driver when she was about to get off the bus when she got to the airport.... but she felt so tired... she kept trying to stare at the bus driver and wonder some more to keep herself awake.... but she hadn't slept... in days....

"Hey, Angelin'." Ezela sat up with a start. "Yeah, you. Git up. Yer stop. Sunset Valley Airpoit." the bus driver said. Blearily, Ezela lurched to her feet. She sleepily began to pay the bus driver. "Git outta here kid, I gotta go back ta the station now. No money. Don' woiry bout it."

Ezela stumbled off the bus and only after it had driven away did she realize that the bus driver had known her name as well as her destination even though she hadn't told her.

Yes, sure enough, it was Sunset Valley airport alright. And that was another thing- how did the bus driver know where she was going? She had no luggage, not even a backpack that would have given her away. It was almost as if the driver..... was expecting her. But I've never seen her before in my life! Ezela thought. How could she know me?

She entered the large building with trepidation. Despite thousands of people coming and going from the airport every day, it stank of scrubbing alcohol and appeared like a hospital room to Ezela. Everything was orderly and scrubbed and white- it made Ezela feel out of place as a skinny, grubby teenager. Nevertheless, she was to follow the directions, and the they directed her to wait in line to turn in her ticket. As soon as she stepped into line, the flight attendant caught sight of her and waved her up to the front.
"Thank you Miss Angelin', please board, first class is up here." she spoke in a clipped voice, gesturing to the doors leading to the portable hallway thing that led to the plane. Once again, Ezela was taken aback. How did this lady know her name too? And- wait a minute- FIRST CLASS???

She was led up to a private cubical in the plane that was fairly large, and all her own. "Call if you need anything mamm'." Another flight attendant told her. "And feel free to use the bathroom miss, take a shower and whatnot." She said looking Ezela up and down with a critical eye. Ezela blushed at her unwashed clothes and ripe skin.

She entered the small private bathroom, and took in smell of the fresh white towels and the expensive shampoos and bath salts. What the heck, why not? she thought. Peeling off her clothes, she leaped into the shower and let her worries and wonders slip down with the sweet smelling bubbles and warm water. The hot shower water massaged her tight worried muscles, and her mind became a blissful vast blankness.

When Ezela emerged, the plane had already taken off and she was a new person. The pile of dirty
T-shirt and torn shorts had been removed, and a pair of delicate sandels and a neatly folded designer sundress was in its place. She tried them on. They fit perfectly, and she found a mirror and gazed at herself in wonder. She looked different. Like a person who actually was worth all the money SOMEONE had spent on her. But who were they? And why did they simply give her luxury all of a sudden?

She was interrupted by a stewardess entering the room. The scent of delicacies made Ezela almost faint with hunger. The stewardess smiled and set down an assortment of dishes. "This... this is all for me?" Ezela whispered disbelievingly, knees going weak. The stewardess laughed. "Of course it is Ms. Angelin', I hope you enjoy." There it was again. Her name. People knowing it. But she was too hungry to ponder the strangeness for very long. She began to stuff her face with the best meal by far that she had ever eaten- Lobster Thermidor, 83 year old Nectar, and even something called Flaming Angel Food Cake. Well, the flaming part was obvious. But the Angel part was even stranger. "A specialty of Angel Falls." the stewardess said. "Made with real flamefruit, that only grows in Angel Falls." Ezela bit into the succulent flaming cake, and surprisingly it tasted familiar, although she knew that she had never tasted it before. It was like a friendly hello from a friend she barely remembered.

Several hours later, the couch like seat stretched out into a bed and pillows and blankets were brought. Ezela was asleep before her head even touched the pillow. Her dreams were crowded, and told her things, but she remembered nothing when she woke.

Just as the sunlight began to stream through the windows like melted butter, a speck on the ocean came into sight. There were surprisingly no clouds, and as the got closer, Ezela could see it was an island. It was Angel Falls. But it was nothing like the brochure pictures showed. The pictures were lies. Oh, she could see the similar slopes of the hills, the shape of the island, she could see the similarities, but this Angel Falls, the real Angel Falls made the pictures seem unappealing. The water around the very island seemed bluer and clearer than the rest, as if the glowing aura of the island lit it up. The island DID look like angel wings, EXACTLY like Angel Wings, in the middle of a blue sky, like they were flying away up to the heavens. The white soft sanded beaches looked like powder, and ribboned the island like lace. Ezela began to internally hyperventilate. How do I of all people belong here?

As the plane landed, Ezela slowly began to get her bearings. She took one step off the plane and was suddenly overcome by an enormous rush of adrenaline. The very air quickened her pulse and excited her. Before she knew it, her feet had carried her to the beach, the sandals long ago kicked off and forgotten. She ran and ran, letting the waves lick her toes playfully.

She ran and ran and ran. Around the beach, through the town. On the farmland and through neighborhoods filled with enormous houses. She had no idea what had come over her. She had never been so... so... spontaneous. She was usually so unsure of herself, and executed each action in life with utmost caution. It was just something about the island... it pulled on her heart and her hear pulled on her feet, making them run everywhich way like she had planned it. Finally, her heart pulled her to the waterfall. She immediately stripped down to her underwear and plunged into the clear and snappily cold water. It was almost like she was being controlled. Ezela floated peacefully for hours, feeling the most at place she had ever felt. Finally, something chewed at the back of her mind and she climbed out, redressing and braided her wet hair on top of her head to dry. Oh yes, the directions. Ezela looked at them. She had skipped all of them. Ah well, she would just do the final destination one. She looked at the map that had come with the directions. Final destination... final destination... well, that's ironic. she thought. The big red X of the final destination was right next to the waterfall.

Craning her neck, Ezela strained to see where she was meant to go. She saw a bit of something through the trees, and slowly circled around.

At the front of the final destination, Ezela stopped walking. She forgot to breathe. The map fell, forgotten, out of now limp fingers. Her feet found the ground, slowly, silently, walking up the cobblestone path.
Hands slowly rose before their owner of their own accord, and pushed the heavy gate open.

Okay, I'm sososososo sorry that I haven't posted for so long. I built the airport and first class room several times, and then, ALMOST EVERY SINGLE TIME before I could take pictures, my game would CRASH!!!! and I would have to build them all over again. I eventually mostly gave up and built the lame thingies in the pictures. They were light years better before, trust me. Also, I REALLY payed attention to detail this time. Did you see how Ezela's hair darkened slightly in the last few after going swimming in the waterfall due to how it was wet??? Didja??? Well, they did. AND I also actually put it in a braid on top of her head, even though you can't really see it. Also, I put a pattern on her dress, which took FOREVER for my dumb computer to load. PLUS I turned the Headline Effects off this time. So, I tried to make it good. I apologise for failing. I just realised how lame the pictures are despite several weekends of work. Yes, WEEKENDS, as I am not allowed to play Sims during the week, and my parents think that three hours of Sims within ONE WHOLE WEEK is too much. When summer comes, I'll update loads more. I am not gonna be one of those bloggers who only post a meagre little post every six months. SURE, that happened THIS time, but.... it won't happen again, I swear! Also, next post is coming real soon, but you'll be mad at me. Its a... teaser of sorts. Once again, sorry for the really bad post, I know its super slow moving, I promise it will get more exciting! See ya!
